Denmark rejects brit milah ban

Denmark’s National health authority has said it does not think non-medical brit milah is risky enough to justify a ban, after a left-wing parliamentary alliance suggested otherwise.

The director of the Danish Board of Health said levels of risk were not high enough to recommend a ban.

The news was welcomed by European Jewish groups, who see Denmark as the next battleground for safeguarding the practice amid “a trend of intolerance”.

A Milah UK spokesperson said: “We will continue to offer our full support to the Danish Jewish community.”
