Ehud Olmert to address Zionist Federation dinner

The former Israeli PM, who spent 19 months in jail, will be interviewed by ITV's Rageh Omaar

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has been invited to address a dinner marking the 120th anniversary of the Zionist Federation.

OLmert has also served as mayor of Jerusalem but was released last year after serving 16 months in prison over corruption and bribery charges. He is now ferociously putting his side of the story in an explosive “warts-and-all” memoir.

As prime minister from 2006 to 2009, he is said to be the Israeli politician who came closest to making a peace deal with the Palestinians.

He is set to be interviewed at the anniversary dinner about his life and times by ITV’s international affairs editor, Rageh Omaar.
