Yoni Erlich won his 18th career ATP Tour doubles title on Sunday alongside GB’s Colin Fleming at the Shenzhen Open in China.

His first win since May 2012, Erlich, 38, who reached the semi-finals at this year’s Wimbledon, was playing in just his third tournament since returning from a two-month injury, with the Israel-GB duo beating Andre Sa and Chris Guccione 6-1, 6-7, 10-6.

A typhoon in southern China meant they had to play both their semi-final and final on Sunday, with the latter being played indoors. Erlich said: “We had a lot of fun at a great event. The hotel and venue are great. I’m happy we could play very solid throughout the week and I’m very happy for the title. The last few years I made some finals but could never go all the way. I’m happy it finally came.”

Fleming said: “I didn’t expect it, but Jonathan and I played great tennis this week and I’m so happy to get over the line after a tough two matches today.”
