Dairy exports from West Bank settlements will be banned by the European Union from January, writes Matei Clej.

The European Commission will not recognise Israel Agriculture Ministry inspections outside pre-1967 borders.

Produce originating in the West Bank, Golan Heights and East Jerusalem will, therefore, be considered unregulated from 2015.

The Israeli government has warned factories affected that “it will no longer be possible to export dairy products produced over the Green Line, either directly or indirectly”.

A similar ban on fish will also apply from next year.
