Ex-WJR chief Rosenfield ‘on former PM Johnson’s new Lords list’
Dan Rosenfield is reportedly one of 20 names to be nominated for elevation to the Lords on Boris Johnson's list
Dan Rosenfield, the former Downing Street chief of staff, has reportedly been included on Boris Johnson’s list of names nominated for the Lords.
The Times reports that the former World Jewish Relief chief is one of 20 names on the former prime minister’s new list.
Rosenfield has previously described his Judaism as “central to his life.”
Shaun Bailey, the former London mayoral candidate who resigned as chairman of the London Assembly’s police and crime committee last year after a photograph emerged of him breaking Covid rules at a party, is also reportedly nominated.
The list also includes David Ross, the multimillionaire Tory donor and Carphone Warehouse co-founder.
Appointed to the chief of staff role in April 2021, Manchester United fan Rosenfield was a regular feature of newspaper reports under the former pm.
Prior to that role Rosenfield had spent eleven years at the treasury from 2000-2011, and was partly responsible for budget for the successful London Olympics bid.
He had also worked for Labour and Tory chancellors Alistair Darling and George Osbourne.
Rosenfield left public service to joinBank of America Merrill Lynchas a managing director in investment banking from June 2011 to March 2016.
He resigned from the Downing Street role in February 2022 as many of Johnson’s staff faced scrutiny during the partygate scandal.
