Extra £10K made available for winter grants promoting Israel engagement
UJIA increases money in the pot to £30,000 after applications for support snowball
An extra £10,000 has been made available in grants for projects promoting Israel engagement over the winter.
UJIA has announced a boost to its winter initiative following a spike in applications, after its Summer Engagement Fund distributed £100,000 to organisations and schemes strengthening peoples’ connection to the Jewish state.
18 grantees, including synagogues, youth movements, schools and communal organisations of varying denominations, will now share £30,000. Projects will engage over 1,000 young people over the winter.
Among initiatives being supported are a virtual sleepover being organised by the 5th Giffnock Guides, the Israeli Dance Institute’s virtual ‘Dance Tour of Israel.’
Robin Moss, UJIA Director of Strategy, commented, “In a year when the opportunity for UJIA to run Israel Tour and other Israel experiences has been impossible, it is incredible to see the diverse ways that the community has found to keep the connection alive. UJIA is committed to supporting these initiatives and enhancing the connection between the UK Jewish community and people and communities in Israel.”
