Several brands of supermarket-branded Ready Salted crisps are now kosher.

The Kosher London Beth Din (KLBD), which falls under the auspices of the United Synagogue and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, has announced that ready salted crisps by Aldi Snackrite, ASDA, Lidl Snaktastic, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Tesco Stockwell & Co are now approved Parev.

Rabbi Elie Schoemann, interim director of KLBD, said: “KLBD’s product research team has checked a number of major supermarket brand crisps and is pleased to be able to make this announcement today.

“KLBD strives to make keeping kosher easier and we know that given the cost-of-living crisis, being able to choose cheaper crisps will be welcome news for many. This follows our recent announcement approving many supermarket own-brand cereals wherever you are in the United Kingdom.

“KLBD responds to hundreds of product enquiries every week and is always mindful of the needs of the public, so do be in touch if there are any other products which you would like us to look into.”
