Finance and Fundraising Executive

Role: We are looking for a candidate with at least five years’ experience to support the fundraising and finance activity within the charity. The successful candidate will ideally have strong finance and database skills.

Job Type: 4 days a week, with some flexibility

Timeframe: Fixed term, 13-month contract maternity cover. We would like this role to start by Monday 5th June, or as early as possible from Monday 22nd May, subject to notice period where relevant.

Salary: £37,500 – £42,500 pro rata, commensurate with experience

Reporting To: CEO

Managing: Line managing the Office Administrator, and the Data Manager & Administrator

Location: Hybrid model. Working from NIF Offices in Kentish Town & Remote working

Job Description

 

Main tasks:

1) Fundraising:

  • Ensure all donations are recorded, receipted/followed up in an accurate and timely manner
  • Oversee the organisation’s various gifts processes
  • Claim Gift Aid at least every six months

2) Finance:

  • Work closely with the organisation’s Bookkeeper to support production of regular management accounts
  • Key liaison for the organisation’s Audit fieldwork
  • Manage regular payments and bank account processes
  • Coordinate and support the Finance Committee (at least three meetings a year)

3) Grants:

  • Prepare and execute monthly transfer of grants
  • Quality assurance of grants: up-to-date due diligence
  • Liaise with grantees when needed
  • Main contact for NIF Israel’s Grants and Finance teams

4) Data and Governance:

  • Support the CEO and Board with governance and regulation requirements
  • Organisational lead for GDPR and responsible for ensuring policies are reviewed regularly and the team are updated on and executing any changes

5) Database:

  • Organisational lead/expert on Raiser’s Edge (RE)
  • Regularly produce queries and reports to support major donor fundraising, appeals, events, and data maintenance
  • Regularly and proactively improve information recorded in RE and the organisation’s use of data to support successful fundraising outcomes

Person Specification

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be organised and work well under pressure
  • Have an excellent eye for detail and be able to understand how each area of a project or our work relies on and relates to each other
  • Feel comfortable working in a small, creative, and collaborative team
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be experienced and confident in preparing and presenting financial reports
  • Have experience working with databases (ideally Raiser’s Edge)
  • Have experience handling donations (or similar financial transactions)
  • Be highly skilled with Microsoft Excel, and proficient working with Microsoft Word, Outlook and comfortable adapting to new systems

Desirable Experience:

  • Have experience working in a fundraising organisation or team
  • It will be advantageous, but is not essential, if the successful candidate can communicate with our colleagues and partners in Israel in Hebrew
