Finding ‘Mike’: life-saving story to be screened at JW3

Jonny's film Finding Mike recounts how he found his saviour
Jonny Benjamin has made a documentary about his moving story

When Jonny Benjamin was diagnosed aged 20 with schizoaffective disorder, he lost all hope. In January 2008, he went to London’s Waterloo Bridge to end his life.

Yet the kind words of a stranger stopped him.

Six years later, the former JFS student started an online campaign to find the man he named ‘Mike’, to thank him for saving his life.

His heartfelt plea touched millions online, going viral all over the world and leading Jonny to appear on national TV and radio.

Within weeks, ‘Mike’ was found.

Now a mental-health campaigner, Jonny has produced a documentary that tells his heart-wrenching story of the loss and retrieval of hope.

The documentary Finding ‘Mike’ will be screened this Wednesday 23rd July at JW3, followed by a Q&A and drinks reception with Jonny and the production team.
