Former Jewish security chief to chair anti-hate project

The Community Security Trust’s former chief executive has been appointed as a co-chair of an initiative for monitoring and tackling anti-Muslim hate in the UK.

Richard Benson, who stepped down from his CST post after 12 years, expressed “delight” at joining Tell MAMA.

“This builds on the support CST has given Tell MAMA since its creation and demonstrates our commitment to combat all forms of bigotry and hatred that affect different communities,” he added.

Fiyaz Mughal, founder of Faith Matters, which set up the reporting service, said: “We are extremely lucky and proud to have Richard Benson as co-chair.”
