Former JLC chair Sir Mick Davis made Conservative Party CEO
Businessman and philanthropist to take on role following disappointing election results

The former chair of the Jewish Leadership Council has been appointed as chief executive of the Conservative Party.
Sir Mick Davis, who stepped down for his role at the JLC last month, will take on a brief that includes improvements to central office and to campaign techniques and systems following an election result that fell well short of Tory expectations.
The businessman and philanthropist will continue his role as treasurer of the party, to which he was appointed last year.
Prime Minister Theresa May said: “I am delighted that Sir Mick has agreed to take on this important role. The Party will benefit from his entrepreneurial and leadership skills as he works with the team at CCHQ to make the improvements that we need, now and for the future.”
Sir Mick – who was appointed to chair David Cameron’s Holocaust commission which led to plans for a new national memorial and learning centre – received cross-party plaudits on announcing his departure from the JLC.
