British-Jewish group accused of helping disgraced Holocaust revisionist

A group of British Jews stand accused of “lying” to cover up their offer to support a disgraced revisionist who claimed the Holocaust is “exaggerated for political ends”.

Investigative journalist David Collier claims to have uncovered a damning  email exchange that suggests “anti-occupation” Jewish organisation Na’amod offered to assist Pete Gregson, an expelled GMB shop steward who accused Israel of “exaggerating” the Nazis’ murder of six million Jews.

Collier claims Gregson sent an email to Na’amod on 7 July 2022 asking for help finding venues for a speaking tour featuring individuals deeply hostile to Israel such as Dr Azam Tamimi and the leader of Neturie Karta.

Gregson asks: “Would you be able to give me some support? …ideally organising suitable venues. We would like to visit evert city where there is a sizable Muslim population…. would Na’amod be able to help in any way?”

Na’amod’s alleged response, sent the following day, reads: “Hi Pete. That all sounds really good. We actually have a master doc for venues that we use when organising events I’ve attached to this email.”

Collier writes: “I sent Na’amod an email outlining the accusation with a right to reply. Even I found it difficult to believe they would have got into bed with someone as infamously and publicly toxic as Gregson. When Na’amod did not respond to me, I tweeted out about the email exchange. Na’amod’s response was quick, hard and clear; it never happened and I was making it up. They say they have never supported Gregson in this or any other capacity. They imply I am making it up, referring to me as ‘far-right‘ and clearly cast doubt on my honesty as a journalist.”

A Na’amod spokesperson said: “We recently put out a statement in response to accusations of assisting Pete Gregson. Our initial investigation uncovered no evidence of assistance, and we have been unable to locate any email to suggest that we have supported him on his tour. We will continue to conduct an internal investigation to get a clear understanding of what has happened and whether our communication channels have been compromised. We want to reiterate that Na’amod wholly rejects Gregson’s rhetoric. We will continue to mobilise our community in support of freedom, equality and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis.”
