Hasmonean Girls School announces new headteacher

Hasmonean Girls’ School in Mill Hill has announced the appointment of a new headteacher who will take up the post in January, after former head Rachel Fink was named as the new JFS headteacher in December.

Governors this week welcomed Kate Brice, an author who is currently deputy head at City of London School for Girls, having previously taught History at Aylesbury High School and at The Haberdashers’ Aske’s School.

Chair of Governors Marc Meyer said Brice “has the skills, experience and personal qualities to lead the girls’ school into its next phase of development,” while paying tribute to Fink’s “excellent stewardship”.

Hasmonean’s executive headteacher Andrew McClusky used the opportunity to announce a “transformational” shake-up of the two-site school’s leadership set-up.

“In addition to this excellent appointment, we are working on a new leadership structure to strengthen the leadership capacity and teaching of Kodesh to ensure that this area is stronger than ever next year,” he said. “Further details will be released in due course.”

Brice has published three books in her field, including ‘History: Years of Renewal,’ ‘The Early Stuarts and The English Revolution’ and ‘The Three Henrys: a novel.’
