Holocaust education uses technology to remember

Holocaust educators are using 21st century technology to mark the horrors of the 20th by launching downloadable teaching packs to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps.

‘Exploring the Holocaust’ will help teachers decide which topics to include in their schemes of work and ensure lessons are pedagogically appropriate at Key Stage 3.

“Teachers tell us their textbooks simply do not do justice to the subject,” said HET’s Alex Maws.

The 15 lessons included in the pack let students examine the ethical implications of the Shoah and its contemporary relevance.
