Honey & Co is opening a new cafe, deli and bakery

The Israeli-owned brand's new unit will focus on its bakery offering

Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer

Honey & Co. Daily is the new deli, bakery and café from Honey & Co. founders Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich, opening on Store Street, Bloomsbury, in September.

Situated on the corner of Alfred Place Gardens and Store Street, just off Tottenham Court Road, the large light-filled space will be divided into two sections, with a dedicated deli-takeaway area at the entrance – offering coffees, pastries, cakes and lunches to go – and a casual 40-seater dining room, with a more substantial eat-in menu, located beyond.

The Honey & Co. Daily offering will have a strong leaning on baked goods, all made on site to co-founder Sarit Packer’s renowned recipes: the opening menu will include Middle Eastern bakes such as pastries, sandwiches, lachma, cakes and breads, alongside Middle Eastern salads, shakshukas and dips.

Co-founder Itamar Srulovich says: “From the start, our baking has been our beating heart, the backbone and basenote of everything we do; from the morning bread through to the afternoon cakes and the last sweet bite after dinner, everything happens in, near or around our pastry section.”

Packer adds: “That daily structure is so natural to us, our day is shaped by our baking, and we want to bring that routine to our guests, whether it’s becoming their daily stop for coffee and a pastry in the morning, a place to grab a quick but delicious sandwich for lunch, somewhere to pop for a slice of cake and an afternoon meeting, or a regular dinner with friends.”

The project has been a long-term dream for the couple, especially for Srulovich, who sees it as a tribute to his long-suffering wife Packer: “Our whole operation is powered by my wife Sarit, not least our pastry section – a fairy of sugar, fruit and flour, she conjures up incredible baked goods seemingly without moving, certainly without measuring too much, performing something not far from pure magic. This place is truly the space she deserves, a brand new kitchen dedicated to her art, plus a dining space that is so beautiful, I wish we could move in… it will make you weep.”

As well as offering all day dining, the couple will be hosting supper clubs on Friday and Saturday nights, and special holiday celebrations, with tickets being released to those on the Honey & Co. mailing list.

Srulovich says “We’ll be kicking things off with a huge Rosh Hashanah celebration supper club, the hottest ticket in town! It’ll be the highlight of a whole load of giveaways and parties for the opening.”
