IDF unveils videos of Hamas tunnels and hostages at al-Shifa hospital

The Israeli army unveiled what it said was definitive evidence of a Hamas terror tunnel underneath the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, as well as surveillance footage showing Hamas terrorists bringing two hostages in to the hospital on the morning of 7 October. 

The first video released by IDF on Sunday appeared to show a 55-metre terror tunnel 10 metres deep underneath the Shifa Hospital complex.

“A deep staircase leads to the entrance of the tunnel shaft, which consists of various defence means including a blast-proof door and a firing hole,” the army said. “This type of door is used by the Hamas terrorist organisation to block Israeli forces from entering the command centres and the underground assets belonging to Hamas.”

“The tunnel shaft was uncovered in the area of the hospital underneath a shed alongside a vehicle containing numerous weapons including RPGs, explosives, and Kalashnikov rifles,” it added.

Later on Sunday, the IDF spokesperson revealed more footage from al- Shifa surveillance cameras, apparently showing Hamas terrorists bringing two hostages, a Nepalese civilian and a Thai civilian, into the hospital at 10:42am on 7 October.

“IDF vehicles stolen during the murderous massacre can also be seen inside the Shifa Hospital area. These findings prove that the Hamas terrorist organization used the Shifa Hospital complex on the day of the massacre as terrorist infrastructure. These findings add to previous evidence presented regarding Hamas’ use of the hospital area as infrastructure for its terrorist activities in a systematic and ongoing manner,” the IDF said.

Both Hamas and al-Shifa have previously denied that the terror group has any presence at the hospital. The evidence is now being shown to world leaders and foreign intelligence agencies who will be able to verify the material themselves.

The United Nations is yet to comment on the evidence put forward by IDF.
