IN PICTURES: UJIA’s Wembley date with David Bernstein
The former chairman of the Football Association has praised a UJIA programme giving disadvantaged Arab and Jewish children in the Galil the chance to play football together and receive homework help, writes Avital Mendelsohn.
Almost 320 guests gathered at the Bobby Moore Suite at Wembley Stadium to hear David Bernstein CBE emphasise “the important of having channels for Arabs and Jews to meet and integrate”.
The event was presented by LBC presenter Ian Payne, who hosted a quiz from a raised astroturf stage fitted with goals. Guests were entertained by freestyle footballer Paul Wood and bid for a range of prizes in a silent auction, including a signed picture of the FA Cup-winning Arsenal team and a signed Wayne Rooney England shirt.

Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
