Interfaith education seminar held for Holocaust and Srebrenica
During the Holocaust Memorial Week an interfaith seminar was held focusing on Srebrenica and the Holocaust at Ebrahim Academy, East London.
Over 90 teenagers between 14 to 16 years old listened to Rabbi David Lister, rabbi of Edgware United Synagogue spoke about similarities between Judaism and Islam, organised by the Joseph Interfaith Foundation.
Director Mehri Niknam MBE said “the aim of the Academy is to ensure that every student develops his Islamic character and becomes a positive role model in society.”
Mehri also engaged the students on similarities between anti-Semitism and Islamophobia and their manifestations in the genocide at Srebrenica and the Holocaust.
Both also answered questions from the students, and the Academy has invited the foundation to hold a further discussion session with the students.
