Members of an interfaith forum co-founded by Sir Sigmund Sternberg are to take part in a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ in August.

The Faith & Belief Forum, formerly the Three Faiths Forum, is working in partnership with the National Theatre and participants began rehearsals this week ahead of the production at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch.

Described as a “magical tale of faithful friends, feuding families and lovers in disguise,” the production will also feature professional actors as well as performance groups from across London.

Organisers said the venture had brought people together through creative writing and performance workshops to explore themes of identity and belief, which had “led to the formation of a unique interfaith writers’ collective”.

Fiona Ranford from the Faith & Belief Forum said: “Being involved has been inspirational, highlighting the power of quality participatory arts in building truly diverse communities and enabling dialogue about faith, belief and identity.”
