The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is to offer a special online schedule ahead of Chanukah, featuring Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, Hollywood actress Bette Midler and Fauda star Rona-Lee Shimon.

The free-to-register event on 6 December will include instrumental performances and behind-the-scenes interviews “to bring music and holiday light” to Jewish communities around the world.

The Philharmonic and its conductor, Lahav Shani, will perform pieces from Zimmer’s acclaimed works, and the audience wil hear from other
guests, including actress and model Dar Zuzovsky and music manager Kenny
Hamilton.

“This has been an extremely difficult year,” said Tali Gottlieb, Israel Philharmonic Foundation director. “In an end-of-the-year effort, I hope this event will provide the support it needs to grapple with the enormous challenges still ahead.”

While the event is free, donations are requested “to offset critical Philharmonic revenue losses due to forced closures due to the ongoing pandemic”.

Donors will receive access to a VIP after-party, with Lydia Fenet, Christie’s global managing director of strategic partnerships, and guests, discussing trends in culture, art, fashion and design.
