Israeli baseball player makes MLB draft history
Dean Kremer has made history after being the first Israeli baseball player to get drafted into Major League Baseball (MLB).
The 19-year-old was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 38th round of the draft in June, he said: “I like to represent my country in any way possible.”
There are currently around 15 American Jews playing professional baseball in the USA, whilst in Israel the major sports – being football (soccer) and basketball – are amongst the most popular.
