‘It’s bloomin’ delicious’: Jamie Oliver tucks into Israeli breakfast

Jamie Oliver enjoyed a slap-up breakfast, Israeli style, for his new television series

Israeli fans of Jamie Oliver have been kvelling at seeing the celebrity chef visiting their own backyard for his new series, in episodes which aired in the country this week.

Jamie’s Meat-Free Meals arrived on Israel’s Food Channel on Sunday.

In episode 6, Oliver is seen chomping into Panda Pitta’s famous steamed pitta bun sabich while stopping in Tel Aviv and in the latest episode to air, he visits the Kalo café in the Baka neighbourhood of Jerusalem.

Arriving for breakfast, Oliver exclaims: “On the table is more colour than I’ve seen on breakfast tables ever, in all my travels.”

He then marvels at the array of colourful, freshly-prepared dishes, which include a chopped herb salad with pomegranates and granola.

“I never thought of it, its bloomin’ delicious,” he declares, before adding, “It’s like a picnic – this does blow most breakfasts around the world out the water.”

Oliver was spotted in January out and about on the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv filming for his new series, which first aired in the UK in October and is still available to watch on All4.
