Jewish Blind and Disabled announces new chief executive
Jewish Care's head of PR will join JBD as their new CEO to replace Hazel Kaye who is leaving in July
Head of PR at Jewish Care Lisa Wimborne will take over the reins of Jewish Blind and Disabled in July as their new CEO, it has been announced.
Wimborne was appointed chief executive of the charity last week to replace Hazel Kaye who is leaving the charity after 16 years to take up a senior role at Norwood.
“I am honoured to have been appointed,” Wimborne said. “I am looking forward to working with the chair, board of trustees and staff team to ensure we can continue meeting the ever-developing needs of people in the Jewish community who have physical disabilities or impaired vision”.
Wimborne helped develop Jewish Care’s independent living scheme Wohl Court and has worked as a senior manager for several housing associations.
She was also a founding governor at the Jewish Community Secondary School where she chaired its marketing and communications subcommittee.
“We are delighted that Lisa has agreed to join us as chief executive as the charity reaches its landmark 50th birthday,” said Jewish Blind and Disabled Chairman John Joseph MBE.
“She brings valuable experience to the role, and I am sure that she is the right person to lead Jewish Blind and Disabled into its next 50 years.”
JBD administers around 300 mobility apartments in seven developments in the London area.
