Jewish News joins #Spit4Mum campaign

Our staff members signed up to the drive for stem cell donor to help find a match for Sharon Berger, 65, fighting leukaemia

Jewish News staff members joined the campaign to help Londoner Sharon Berger, 65, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2012.

The only available cure is a stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor and, despite having a transplant in 2013, the cancer has returned. Sharon has been told she has less than a month before she needs a second transplant.

A spokeswoman for DKMS said: “It is wonderful that the team at Jewish News are taking the time to swab to become potential blood stem cell donors. It could lead to them saving a life, which could be Sharon’s or another person in need of a lifesaving donation.”
