JFS ‘delighted’ with inspection results: Jewish Studies listed as Grade 1

JFS said it is “delighted” with the school’s most recent Pikuach (Jewish studies) report, following an inspection in early December.

Inspectors gave the Kenton institution a Grade 2 (Good) rating overall, with several aspects listed as Grade 1 (Outstanding), with the Jewish studies leadership and curriculum coming in for particular praise.

“We’re delighted,” said chairman of governors Michael Glass, who commended staff. The report was not universally positive, however, and also highlighted areas in which the school could improve, noting: “In a number of lessons, pace is an issue and students could have been moved on faster. This is sometimes the result of the pace being too slow, which leads to some students going off-task. “On other occasions, the pace is rushed, giving insufficient time for students to complete activities before they are moved on.”
