The Union of Jewish Students held one of its main national events on Sunday as the JUEFA Cup brought some 140 students to Manchester for an afternoon of five-a-side football.

Twenty teams from around the UK, took part in the event which saw Nottingham JSoc win the men’s competition and Birmingham JSoc’s girls claimed the women’s prize.

Birmingham captain Gabby Kingsley said: “I’m absolutely elated. I didn’t think we’d win. We came for a good day out and it’s been a great day out!”

The event also saw the UJS men’s team won its first game in JUEFA’s seven-year history.

Event Organiser Erez Agami said: “There was a great mix of students. It was fantastic to see them come together from all over the country.”
