Karina Kaufmann said she was “super pleased” having earned a top-10 world finish at the ITU World Duathlon Championships in Denmark.

Comprising of a 8km run and 19.9km cycle, and backed by her sponsors Skybound Capital and Seven Feet Apart, she finished tenth in the world, which was also the fifth-fastest Brit, and said: “I not only met my goals, but went beyond them!”

Now focussing on the rest of the season and ensuring she qualifies for the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Championships, she will though be missing out on a couple of international competitions over the next few months.

“Due to family commitments and the fact that the 2018 World Triathlon Championships in Australia are sandwiched between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, I won’t be able to attend, even though I qualified for the Olympic distance race,” she says.

“I’ve also qualified for the 2019 ITU World Sprint Championships, but will have to forgo that race as it takes place on the eighth day of Pesach. These clashes are obviously frustrating, but I’m going to use it to the best advantage that I can, to prepare for the 2019 World Triathlon, as well as testing out some new race disciplines – all on top of raising my family and continuing to promote a healthy, fit and adventurous lifestyle through my company Freerange Fitness!”
