King Solomon appoints new head teacher after frantic search
King Solomon High School has appointed an interim head-teacher after the abrupt departure of Jo Shuter last week, who left under a cloud following an expenses scandal that landed her with a lifetime ban.
Yorkshire-born Dr. Paul Doherty, the head-teacher of Trinity School in Woodford, resumes responsibilities immediately, after a frantic search involving Redbridge Council.
Doherty is an award-winning author and historian who spent three years in his early career studying to be a Catholic priest, before pursuing other interests.
He was since written over 100 published books, including historical novels as well as non-fiction, and was awarded an OBE in 2011 for services to education.
