Kisharon Langdon on ‘Top of the World’ after raising £2.2+ million
Learning disability and autism community charity surpasses 36-hour fundraising target in attempt to fill adult social care provision shortfall
Newly formed charitable entity Kisharon Langdon has raised more than £2.2 million with the support of 5,414 donors in its recent fundraising campaign.
It was the first matched fundraiser since the merger of the learning disabilities and autism organisations Kisharon and Langdon and sought to address the critical funding shortfall in adult social care support.
Persistent underfunding, exacerbated by global events, has placed immense pressure on organisations like Kisharon Langdon to secure essential services for those they support. The campaign, named ‘On Top of the World,’ underscores the charity’s dedication to empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives rooted in Jewish values.
Richard Franklin, Kisharon Langdon chief executive said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts. The extent of support and depth of feeling for Kisharon Langdon is so moving, across every part of our wonderful and generous community –how empowered, staff, people with disabilities and autism were alike to raise such extraordinary donations for a cause that they hold so dear.
“This is a significant boost for everyone involved as we tackle the remaining challenges of securing the outstanding balance of our £4 million funding gap, along with addressing the indirect consequences of ongoing world events on the charity. However, if ever there was proof positive that united we stand and we are indeed better as one community, this outstandingly successful fundraiser is it”.
