Four in court to face Bushey summer camp abuse charges

Four people appeared at St Albans’ Crown court on Friday morning in relation to the closure of LL Camps in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Ben Lewis, 25, has been charged with child neglect and two counts of perverting the course of justice. He also faces three charges of the possessing indecent images of a child.

The director of the American-style children’s camp in Bushey faces further charges relating to taking indecent photographs of a child.

Lewis, of Lullington Garth, Borehamwood, who ran LL Camps, has been charged with committing the offences in Hertfordshire on or before May 6, 2015 and attempting to observe another person doing a private act without consent for sexual gratification on or between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.

The 25-year-old, who was remanded in custody in August, also faces three separate charges of possessing indecent images of a child, two counts of perverting the course of justice and child neglect.

Tal Landsman, 25, is charged with child neglect and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice while Landsman’s mother, Adrianne, 56, is charged with conspiracy to wilfully neglect. Lewis’s father, Larry Lewis, faces a charge of conspiracy to pervert justice. All three have been granted bail.

The charges were not put to the defendants today. The trial is due to be held next May and is expected to last three weeks.
