Lipman: I won’t vote Labour until it’s led by a mensch

Lipman said she had voted for Labour from five decades

Actress and icon Maureen Lipman has said that next year will be the first time in five decades that she will not vote for Labour – and that she does not plan to do so until it is led by a mensch.

In an article for Standpoint magazine, she says she has “always believed in the principles of socialism” but that Ed Miliband and “the Chuka Harman Burnham Hunt Balls brigade” had turned her off.

In a scathing articulation, Miliband is described as a “Jew chomping on a thinly sliced, pan-fried pig rump” whose “leadership coup was as biblical as anything in the book”.

On a more serious note, Lipman scalds the Labour leader for “demanding that the government recognise the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel” at a time of rising anti-Semitism across the continent.

“I’m an actress, Ed, and I am often commended for my timing,” the 68-year old said. “Frankly, my dear, yours sucks.”

She concludes by saying: “Come election day I shall give my vote to another party, almost any other party, until my party is once more led by mensches.”
