Lucy Dee laid to rest: ‘Impossible to put into words how much I loved her’
'Yesterday, beside the grave of Maia and Rina, I closed my eyes and prayed that you would wake up, so we wouldn't need to go through this pain twice,' the eldest living daughter said.
Lucy Dee, who was killed in a terrorist attack in the West Bank, was laid to rest on Tuesday.
“Two days ago I prayed over the grave of Maya and Rina – that we will not go through this pain again,” the eldest living daughter of the family said at the service in the West Bank settlement of Kfar Eztion.
“Yesterday, beside the grave of Maia and Rina, I closed my eyes and prayed that you would wake up, so that we wouldn’t need to go through this pain twice. My heart is already so full of pain, I am paralyzed by all the pain. To lose your mother is like losing your life. I don’t want to move on,” the eldest living daughter Karen said.
The youngster daughter Tali asked: “How do you eulogise mom? Tell me it’s a bad dream.”
Lucy’s sister, Gabby, held her eulogy in English, saying: “It’s impossible to put into words how much I loved her. She was the strongest person I knew. We are all drawing on that strength now.”
“She was not only my sister but best friend. She was always there for me. She and Leo build an amazing family, first in London and later here. She was a phenomenal mother and and an inspiration to al of us,” she added.
