Manchester Jewish primary launches weekly TV show to keep people connected
King David school will broadcast videos made and presented by its students in a bid to help the community stay in touch
A Jewish primary school in Manchester has launched a weekly TV show in an attempt to help the community stay in touch during lockdown.
KDTV, created by King David Primary School in Manchester, is a collection of episodes made and presented by the school’s children.
It will stream each week to the King David Manchester Community and shows what the pupils have been doing during their time away from school.
Episodes include pupils showing their pets, their musical talents, cooking skills, and fitness workouts. Each one is presented by children introducing the different clips.
Yaacov Goldin, who teachers at King David Primary School, says
“During this lockdown we felt it was so important to be able to still connect as a community and also give our children something to keep busy and help entertain others. Not seeing friends and not having the extracurricular activities that all our children love doing, we tapped into the talents that our children have! We know they love making videos, so why not put a “TV” show together. The series has proved so popular that it is possible that it could continue even after lockdown as we have enough material to last 6-8 weeks with even more being made all the time!! ”
