A meeting between Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and members of the Stamford Hill community will not take place, Labour sources have confirmed.
It was reported yesterday a meeting organised by a controversial Charedi activist Shraga Stern would take place at the home of rabbi Herschel Gluck, who is president of the Shomrim in Stamford Hill.
However, rabbi Herschel Gluck told Jewish News the visit was not due to take place at his house.
Jewish News understands that the meeting was never confirmed on the Labour side.
Stern was at the centre of controversy only last month when he branded rabbi Avraham Pinter a “kapo” in an email sent to hundreds of Charedi residents about education and the teaching of alternative sexualities and gender identities.
The term originated in Dachau and refers to Jews who forced other Jews to work, spying on them and reporting misdemeanors to Nazi officers in return for extra rations.
