Merger of JW3 and LJCC to be in effect from April 2015
Finchley Road’s Jewish community centre JW3 will start to host London Jewish Culture Centre events from April next year, with all events moving over by August, after the two groups completed merger negotiations.
LJCC’s iconic Ivy House headquarters in Golders Green, formerly home to Prima Ballerina Anna Pavlova, is being placed on the market this month, after almost 10 years serving as the community’s cultural heart.
Praising it as “the community’s choice” LJCC chief executive Louise Jacobs said: “We have made Ivy House a hive of activity from morning till night. We look forward to continuing that heritage at JW3.” In a joint statement this week, JW3 and LJCC leaders said: “We are now finalising arrangements to bring together the best aspects of both organisations’ programmes.”
LJCC Chairman Michael Marx said: “The trustees would like to sincerely acknowledge the financial support of the Clore Duffield Foundation over recent months.”
