Joined by their two young sons Itzik and Yoni, the Cohens are expected to take up their new roles in early February.

The couple have been at Hampstead United synagogue for three years.

Rabbi Cohen studied in Yeshivat Har Etzion and has a degree in philosophy from UCL. Rebbetzen Cohen is a software developer who attended seminaries in Israel.

They said: “We are incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to serve as MHEJC’s Rabbinic couple. We are really looking forward to working with this vibrant and engaged community.”

Chloe Prager and James Neidle, chairs of MHEJC, said: “We are extremely excited for Rabbi Jack and Rivka to join us.  Their ability to provide inspiring, modern Jewish leadership together with warm and sensitive pastoral support makes them an ideal couple to take MHEJC into its next chapter.”
