Rebbetzen Lucy Dee, wounded in terror attack that killed two of her daughters, dies

Lucy, wife of former Radlett United Synagogue rabbi Leo Dee, was taken to Hadassah Medical Centre after Palestinian gunmen opened fire on her family.

The mother wounded in a terror attack that killed two of her daughters has also died.

Rebbetzen Lucy Dee, 45, wife of former Radlett United Synagogue rabbi Leo Dee, was taken to Hadassah Medical Centre in Jerusalem after after Palestinian gunmen opened fire on her family on Friday afternoon, killing two of her daughters – British-Israeli sisters Rina, 15, and Maia, 20.

The family was travelling to a hiking spot in the Jordan Valley on Friday when they were fatally shot by gunmen.

Leo Dee witnessed the incident from a separate vehicle following behind, local officials said. The perpetrators have yet to be caught.

The hospital said in a statement: “Unfortunately, despite persistent efforts, due to her critical injury, the medical team had to declare her death today.”

Nearly 1,000 people were either present or listened virtually to the Tehillim (psalms) service, led by Rabbi Mordechai Ginsbury, Senior Rabbi of Hendon United Synagogue on Sunday evening for Lucy.

Maia and Rina Dee were buried yesterday in the West Bank settlement of Kfar Ezion.
