The MP for Tottenham has praised a Jewish charity which helps voluntary organisations support disadvantaged members of the Orthodox community.

At a Westminster reception, David Lammy MP said the Stamford Hill-based Interlink Foundation had “achieved a huge amount over the last year”.

The group works to offer advice, training, consultancy and information to those helping disadvantaged Orthodox Jews.

Lammy said he was pleased that the Charity Commission recently recognised this when Interlink became the first UK charity awarded the Level 3 PQASSO Quality Mark by Charities Evaluation Services (CES).

Receiving the award, Interlink boss Chaya Spitz said: “We want Orthodox Jewish charities to feel proud of this achievement.

“It endorses the outstanding work that we are doing together to reach the families and people that really need our support.”
