A new professional network for Jewish women has been launched, allowing them to share knowledge and experience.

The Aitza Network was unveiled in London on Monday with more tun 40 people attending to hear a keynote speech from Professor Julia Hobsbawm.

The event, which was focussed on the question “what does it mean to be a Jewish woman?”, saw Hobsbawm speak about her Jewish journey and her career during the event.

Unveiled at the offices of Grant Thornton in Central London, the network is the initiative of Women in Jewish Leadership, which is a project of the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

After the event, Board of Deputies Chief Executive Gillian Merron said: “I’m delighted that we were able to bring together such a dynamic and talented group of women in this way. It gave a valuable opportunity for women from a diverse cross-section of the community to connect with each other.”
