Noah was put on trial with top lawyers arguing for the prosecution and defence at an London School of Jewish Studies event.

The ‘court’ debated whether Noah was partly to blame for the demise of life on Earth since he had pre-warning of the coming flood.

Arguing in defence of Noah was Dr Harris Bor, a barrister at Twenty Essex Street, and Joanne Greenaway, CEO of LSJS, while prosecuting was Anthony Metzer QC, a barrister at Goldsmith Chambers, and Rachel Marcus, a Barrister at 1 Crown Office Row.

The mock trial event, attended by over 200 people both in person and online, was presided over by Rabbi Dr Harvey Belovski of Golders Green Synagogue, an expert in Jewish law.

Joanne Greenaway, defence lawyer for Noah, said: “I’m not only delighted to have got Noah off on all charges but also that we had so much fun in the process.

“Thanks to my learned colleagues and all our students/jury members for a great evening and a real example of the stimulating, innovative, nuanced and thought-provoking education that LSJS continues to provide.

“It was really energising to have so many back in the building with us and to use our new hybrid technology to such good effect.”
