British Olympic athlete AJ Rosen dies aged 37 after ‘ferocious’ cancer fight
Luger who competed at three Winter Games remembered as one of the 'friendliest and most down-to-earth people you could ever wish to meet'
Tributes have been paid to Jewish former Olympian Adam ‘AJ’ Rosen, who has died aged 37 following a “ferocious” battle with cancer.
The athlete took part in three different Winter Games and recorded the Team GB’s best ever finish at a luge World Cup in 2007.
Born and raised in New York, to a Jewish family, he competed for Great Britain and was a dual US-UK citizen through his English mother. He participated in games in Turin, Vancouver and Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Paying tribute, Luge GB said it is “with great sadness we announce that 3x Team GB Olympian AJ Rosen passed away this morning following a ferocious battle against cancer. AJ was not only one of the greatest ever GB Luge Olympians, he was also the friendliest and most down-to-earth person you could ever wish to meet”
The British Olympic Association said it “is saddened to hear three-time Olympic luger AJ Rosen has passed away at the age of 37.”
