An Orthodox Jewish man who spoke out against Israel’s bombing of Gaza in a Manchester city centre rally has been forced to flee his home after a mob beat him up and attacked his property.

The man, 37, had downstairs windows smashed and eggs thrown at his house on several occasions at the end of July, with graffiti also daubed across the door and his car covered in red paint.

Police were called to his home after the victim was beaten up when he confronted some of the 30-strong group outside his terraced house in Higher Broughton, Salford.

Police are investigating and have confirmed that they are treating the incidents as hate crimes.

It comes just days after a supporter of Israel attacked pro-Palestinian MP George Galloway in broad daylight in a west London street.
