More than 100 community leaders attended the United Synagogue’s inaugural Inspired Jewish Leadership Conference on Sunday.

The event aimed to inspire ‘current and future’ Jewish leaders, and gave ideas on increasing membership and engagement

Talks focused on ‘Community, Heritage and Inspiration’, while workshop themes included social responsibility, new forms of worship, and community engagement through history.

United Synagogue President Stephen Pack remarked, “It is inspiring to see so many of our community leaders coming together to discuss new ideas and share innovations. […] We are determined to do everything we can to support them.”

The event also marked the launch of the United Synagogue’s Community Development Fund, which will fund groups looking to reach out to new demographics and increase engagement.

United Synagogue Vice President Leonie Lewis hoped the fund would “help us build vibrant and engaged communities that are hubs of Jewish life”.
