Over 2,000 flock to “the biggest Limmud event ever”

A session at 2014 Limmud

What do you get when you put 2600 people, taking part in over 1000 sessions with over 500 presenters? The biggest and most extravagant Limmud conference there has ever been!

Thousands will flock to this year’s landmark Limmud, now in Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole hotel.

Taking place between Sunday and Thursday, compared to Limmud conference over the last few years, which had sessions spread across a university campus at Warwick, this year offers a different environment with more activity under one roof.

But despite the upheaval, organisers hope for the same cross-communal and inclusive environment. Michael Gladstone, co-chair told Jewish News: “We are so excited that over a year of hard work – including dozens of train journey, hundreds of phone calls and thousands of whatsapp messages – Limmud Conference is finally here.

“This year’s Conference is going to be the biggest Limmud event ever. Our wonderful new venue is ready, the programme is complete, and we can’t wait to get going. We know it’s going to be a great success.”

Among the key-note speakers and performers this year, will be communal leaders, MP John Mann, members of controversial Israeli group Breaking the Silence, and historian Deborah Lipstadt
