Philanthropist honoured for raising £500K for over 90 children’s charities

A Jewish philanthropist who raised £500,000 for state-of-the-art equipment including a machine that lets doctors scan a child’s heart with great accuracy has been honoured for his work.

Zvi Noé was this week recognised for making an outstanding contribution at the 2019 Sceptre Awards for his leadership of the charity One Great Day, which he set up with his wife Michal in 2014.

One Great Day has now raised half a million pounds for more than 90 children’s charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), where the money recently bought a new echocardiogram (ECG) machine, which allows an ultrasound scan of the heart.

Noé heads the Capreon real estate business whose assets include retail space, so he and Michal chose to raise funds through more than 210 shopping centres across the UK.

This week he said it was “a great honour” to receive the award. “This is confirmation of the achievement of everyone who has been a part of One Great Day, every shopping centre, asset manager, managing agent and owner who has been and continues to be the very heart of the One Great Day family,” he said.

“I have a vision of One Great Day continuing to grow, taking place in every retail location across the UK. This is an opportunity for the retail community to be part of something great, something bigger than any one centre, to make a difference, and to grasp the opportunity of turning what we do at work into something that changes the lives of thousands of children across the UK for the better
