Pictures of £100k Hendon jewel thieves posted on Facebook

Vanessa Aaron, 42, from Hendon, who had her wedding ring taken, together with her late mother’s jewels, is hoping to identify the culprits, and has posted CCTV pictures of three men acting suspiciously in her garden on Facebook.

Thieves who made off with a Jewish woman’s safe containing £100,000 of jewellery by loading it into a shopping trolley may yet be caught, after she took photos of them.

Vanessa Aaron, 42, from Hendon, who had her wedding ring taken, together with her late mother’s jewels, is hoping to identify the culprits, and has posted CCTV pictures of three men acting suspiciously in her garden on Facebook.

The trio later made off the 60kg safe containing 200 items of jewellery from the house on First Avenue on Sunday 16 August. Among the items taken were gold, diamonds and watches by Cartier, Omega and H Stern.

The house had been left secured, but the men are understood to have gained access with a crowbar, wrenching out the kitchen window before climbing in at around 10.20pm.

Aaron, a mother-of-four who used to work as communications manager at Barnet Council, later had to cancel her holiday with her husband Arnold, because the burglars had taken their passports too.

A police spokesman said: “The occupants returned home after they were alerted by their cleaner that an unknown person had gained access. They returned to find a number of rooms ransacked. Jewellery and personal documents were taken. Barnet CID are investigating. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
