Pinner Shul appoints new rabbinic couple Ben and Abi Kurzer

Pinner Synagogue has appointed rabbi Ben and rebbetzen Abi Kurzer as its new rabbinic couple – they will join the congregation in June.

Rabbi Kurzer, who recently served Edgware United Shul as its assistant rabbi, studied in the US at Yeshiva University in New York City.

A keen sports fan and football enthusiast, he played twice in the rabbi vs Spurs Legends charity game to raise money for Laniado Hospital.

Rebbetzen Abi Kurzer holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University College London and a masters in clinical social work from Yeshiva University.

She is also a graduate of the Chief Rabbi’s Ma’ayan programme, which trains which trains female educators.

“We are thrilled to be joining this warm, engaged and dynamic community,” the Kurzers said. “We have already met some of the wonderful people of Pinner and look forward to this opportunity to work together in taking the shul forward.”

Pinner United Synagogue Chair Jonathan Mindell said: “We believe that rabbi and rebbetzen Kurzer will set us on a clear path of communal renewal and development.

“We are particularly excited that Pinner will be the first community to fully incorporate the role of a Ma’ayan into what rebbetzen Abi Kurzer will be spending her time on in Pinner.

“We look forward to welcoming the Kurzer family to Pinner later in the summer.”
