Israel’s president and a much-loved singer-songwriter will take centre stage as one of the community’s oldest charities marks its centenary year.

UJIA is to hold a virtual celebration on 30 September with supporters reflecting on its contribution to British Jewry and Israel.

Its chair, Louise Jacobs, said: “I am proud of our history and proud that UJIA continues to play such an integral role in the lives of British Jews and the communities in Israel who need our support.

“Anyone who loves Israel and Israeli culture and misses Israel in this current climate should expect to be truly moved by what we have in store. I believe that some of the audience will be surprised to learn just how much UJIA has done and currently does to bring our community closer to Israel,”

The celebration will feature a ‘virtual lobby’, where guests can access exhibitions, bringing the charity’s history and mission to life, before joining the main event.

It will conclude with a performance exclusively for the UJIA 100 celebration by Israeli singer-songwriter Idan Raichel.
