The regional director for Israel at UJIA is to leave the charity after 27 years to head the family foundation of CST founder Gerald Ronson.

Natie Shevel, who was UJIA’s interim chief executive after the departure of Michael Wegier, will become the chief executive of the Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation from April 2020.

In 2009 Shevel was awarded an MBE for “strengthening links between the UK and Israel” and this week said it had been an “honour” to serve at UJIA for the best part of three decades.

“As I eagerly begin the next exciting chapter of my career, I look back with a tremendous sense of pride, gratitude and humility,” he said. “UJIA has been an integral part of my life and I have no doubt that it will continue to be so in the future.”

New chief executive Mandie Winston joins in January and chair Louise Jacobs said UJIA “owes an enormous debt of gratitude to Natie for his innovative leadership and dedicated service.

“His departure has been on the cards for some time and we are grateful that both he and the foundation postponed the move to allow Natie to act as our interim chief executive and assist with the appointment and induction of our new chief executive.”
