Rishi Sunak has found time during a hectic Tory Party conference schedule to visit a sukkah placed outside the main arena in Manchester.

The prime minister was photographed discussing the significance of the lulav and etrog over the Sukkot festival with Board president Marie van der Zyl as he braved the rain on Tuesday morning.

The Board’s president told Jewish News:”I was delighted to welcome the prime minister to the Board’s sukkah at Conservative conference where he shook the lulav and etrog.

“It was an honour to host him and discuss the festival of Sukkot.”
